This product is determined by spectrophotometry. After mixing water sample and buffer, nickel is converted into high valence state ions in the presence of strong oxidant. In the presence of buffer solution and indicator, high valence nickel ions react with the indicator to form a colored complex. The monitor detects the color change and converts it into nickel value output.
